As I am currently eying a pair of Ferragamo flats I decided to look at some of the clothing... and Cruise 2011 puts a big smile on my face- if only we had the weather. I think what I like about the collection is its beyond clean lines and simplicity. While I am never one to shy away from some glitz- I can appreciate well made pieces that you can dress up on your own or enjoy in all their simple beauty:
Ok- maybe America isn't mourning over this, but I know Chicago hockey fans were not exactly happy after the Blackhawks first Playoff game on Wednesday. That aside, we play tonight and I know our boys can pull it out and beat the Canucks tonight! Even with my ever-growing love of hockey, I'm not sure what to think of these Dsquared shoes for Fall 2011:
I do however like these boots from the same collection:
As much as I wish I wasn't thinking about Fall shoes already, the weather is still so blah here in Chicago that it almost feels like Spring will never come! Lets hope it decides to show soon- I kind of hate how this city seems to only have two seasons, Winter and Summer.
As mentioned last week, new job started this week. I'm keeping super busy but thought I'd dish out this mid 90s song that began my random 90s rampage exposed via Twitter last week. If you missed it, lets just say I can't recall ever typing (and/or saying) the phrase "jock jams" that many times in one day. I'm pretty sure my search history looked crazy...
Anywho- you may recognize this song from the ending of the movie "Mean Girls" or I've been told some other more masculine movies as well:
Thank you to my dear friend John for the awesome new header! With my new name design I feel reinvigorated! Last day at the soon-to-be old job. Looking forward to starting fresh with Spring, a new job, and a wonderful new Headphones and Hemlines header!
I strongly suggest playing "Survival" by Way Out West and going through the images one more time- they seem to be a match made in heaven- don't you agree?:
Bikini season is lurking around the corner, and while I may not be in tip top shape yet, I can't help but peruse cruise and swim wear looking for the perfect gym inspiration. Nothing gets me ready for the gym mentally like seeing a piece of clothing I want to adorn myself with! Zimmerman's 2011 Cruisewear was just the inspiration I needed for today's gym motivation:
I love the the patterns and how the pieces are glamorous while still being totally functional. I can honestly say I would wear every piece!
What about you- what is your favorite Zimmerman piece?
And while on the subject of pools and beaches, I found this song "Liquid Love" by Shy Child that made me think of lazy days laying out... something about the intro reminds me of sparkling water and the bells that come in later are vaguely reminiscent of calypso drums to me... or maybe I'm daydreaming too hard? What do you think?
Long time no post, eh!? I've been in the midst of a job transition and am happy to announce I start on Monday! I am so excited to jump into this next position and see where it takes me!
