This is the kind of weekday that calls for sneaking out of work earlier than usual and heading straight to the nearest rooftop or patio. You have to enjoy the sun when it decides to come out of hiding- don't you agree?
A little editorial dose to get your Friday moving! She's kind of stunning on the cover- no? I think I'm just jealous of her eyes- too bad she kept them closed for most of the shoot...
Off with the tights, and out with the summer glam! Summer has officially hit Chicago and it's time for nights on rooftops and patios accompanied by friends, dancing, and that dash of fabulous that always seems to amp up for me as the heat turns up outside as well!
So I'm leaving for Atlanta today (or as I'm calling it HOTlanta- and yes I know it's not original). I'm kind of terrified- it's a humid 90 degrees according to the forecast, and I'm just not sure I'm ready to be dressed up for work and sweating through my favorite Theory button up. My whining about hot weather after I've been waiting for sunshine and heat all winter aside, I'll try to suck it up and just enjoy experiencing a new city!
I envision the model's expression in those last 3 images is what I'll feel like over the course of the next 3 days- although hopefully I will hide it.
ACK- and the worst of the worst... I will be in HOTlanta during game 3 of the Bulls... AND I forgot my t-shirt! I know I'll survive but I can't deny it would've been fun to rock my Bulls gear in the land of the Hawks. I'm sassy like that...
I think I've been in the River North bubble for a tad too long. I'm starting to lose my mind and need a solid dose of the underground- if you initially thought I meant the club then you too have been spending too much time in River North and should get out as well!
I am going to stage a personal intervention- I will not be doing a Derek Lam or DVF posting today (although their clothes were gorgeous in NYFW). Instead I'm going to share a lesser known designer with some playful quirkiness and a song from off the beaten path...although perhaps mainstream in the UK.
I adore these pieces by Tsumori Chisato for his RTW Spring-Summer 2011 collection- so playful and eye catching! I think some of these pieces could easily translate to my spring/summer wardrobe. What do you think?
And now a song to leave you with- please note that there are real instruments used in this electronic-esque collaboration- amazing!
