City Nights

Say what you want about T-Pain, but this "City Nights" song is classic T-Pain awesomeness in my book. Super happy it's Friday- it's been a loooonnggg week! Between finally jumping back into my workouts and meetings (charity, work, and fun related), I feel like I accomplished a lot this week! And the cherry on top of this week? Rent the Runway has sent me a free dress to wear this weekend! Sure it's a surprise, but that kind of adds to the magic I think. The dress will definitely dictate this evening's activities so I'm excited to find out what I'll be doing this evening when I pick up the dress after work!

Who knows- if I love the dress that much I may wear it 2 nights in a row. Shhhh- you won't tell anyone right?

Blaze Lacquer

So I've watched an episode of Drop Dead Diva which talked about color changing nail polish, but I didn't know it was REAL!?! @BlazeLacquer put me on to this stuff and I'm kind of excited! Solar Active has polish colors which change from one color to another, so when you're indoors you could have a subdued, work appropriate pink, and then step out into the sun and be rocking a vibrant orange!


They have a bunch of color combinations but I definitely have my eye on this previously mentioned pink-to-orange combo. I am somewhat of a nail polish snob (everyone has their thing, and if you don't, I don't trust you! juusstttt kiddiiinnggg...kind of). I'd love to test out this nail polish; if I get ahold of a bottle I'll definitely report back!

It's Thursday kidlets and I am pretty stoked about that! This means 2 more days of the amazing B Brian Atwood collection have been released on the Saks site too! I'm still in love with Monday and Tuesday's shoes, but these are also pretty and you know expertly made!

Gorgeous. Which shoes do you prefer so far? I actually lied when I initially said this was going through Friday, it's actually going longer than that- although how long it's impossible to know since the calendar on the Saks site only goes through the weekend. You can pre-order your shoes now- the complete collection will be on the site August 15th. Or you can wait until the shoes are in stores in the Fall... I hope there are still some of Tuesday's shoe in stock in my size at that point!!!

Well isn't this song just a little piece of heaven! Today has been a pretty quiet day at the office job; the highlight of my day has been a trip to Ulta with LQ where I stocked up on hair products (hurraayyy!)

So I've been playing this song all summer and it just occurred to me that I never shared- so here ya go! I love how the song is called "Houdini" and the chorus talks about disappearing- I think it's so clever. The original is good, but the RAC remix does wonders to the song for me! You may have noticed by now I'm somewhat of an electro/dance music fan... Give me a song with a good beat I can dance and/or workout too and I'm quite the happy camper!

Monday's are always a tough day to get motivated, especially when Sundays are spent so amazingly lazy. Have a number of after work meetings this week so time to man-up and get over the grogginess brought on by a weekend of significant frolicking. Goose Got Me Loose

After my quasi-sick day yesterday, I met up with some friends for the Modern Luxury Grey Goose event at Epic Sky. Even with the temperature being out of control and everyone sweating through their clothes, the event managed to be a great time and stench free (thank goodness).






The black and white themed party (which I managed to miss the memo on) served up delicious Grey Goose summer cocktails accompanied by waitresses topped with gorgeous pinup-esque hairstyles... If only I had taken a picture so I could then copy!

Luckily the rooftop was in the shade during the entire after work event so we were able to mix, mingle, shimmy (if only for a few seconds here and there), and have a generally fun time.

This weekend brings Wicker Park Fest and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't super excited to watch Flosstradamus throw it down for the umpteenth time.. I can't help it, it's always a good show! They're headlining Saturday night so come out and Act a Fool with me!

Nordstrom's Anniversary/Pre-Fall/Torture sale is seriously testing my attempt to limit my shopping...

I'm not sure why I do it, but I feel the need to look through the site a few times a day to see what I could be buying at a great price. Help my life, I need help. ANYWHO- during one of these perusing sessions I discovered these Jeffery Campbell's and have a serious itch to trek to the nearest Nordstroms (all of 3 blocks away- maybe that's the problem) and just try them on- that's all, I SWEAR!

If I think I have the willpower and make the great journey, I'll let you know!

Sunshine

TGIF- and wonderfully sunny on top of it! Had an amazing dinner at Union Sushi + BBQ last- I definitely recommend you check it out. While I didn't snap and pictures, I will definitely be going back and will try to remember to do so then. The food is fun, somewhat adventurous, delicious, and all served in an interesting take on a urban environment. Prosciutto wrapped scallop fresh off the grill? Check. Crab cake sushi roll? Check. Alligator? Check. Delicious escolar? Check.

This weekend is packed with street fests and Pitchfork (which I am sadly not attending this year). Fret not though my friends- I will be out in the sunshine! I am hoping for a quasi-impromptu pool party to follow my morning Farmer's Market trip tomorrow, attending the BucketFeet Launch party at Studio Paris at night, trekking to The Bedford to check out the "vault" room, and lord knows what else this weekend!

Into the Woods

While I don't typically fancy myself an outdoors-y gal, I'm heading into the great outdoors this weekend to not only camp (ok, for 1 night and I might bring my air mattress) but also go white water rafting!

In my search for camping gear I came across the idea of glamping (glamorous + camping) and I have to say the idea is intriguing! There are all kinds of cites around the country and world with glamping features, like tricked out tents you can rent with full beds and seating, gorgeous interiors, etc.

For now, my store bought tent will have to suffice- I was sold once it said it could hold 2 queen size air mattresses... I know the makers were the kind of people after my own heart...

So, into the woods I go- wish me luck!
