A White Story

If you follow fashion rules it's time to bust out the whites my dears! Memorial Day Weekend = lots of yummy food, summery fashion, and long nights with close friends.

Vogue Italia needs to arrive in my mailbox- their editorials are just insane!

This song "Daniel" by Bat for Lashes seems like the perfect soundtrack for viewing this editorial- they both have an eerie beauty to them. Don't you agree?

Have a wildy wonderful Memorial Day Weekend to my friends in the USA. Those abroad- have an equally fabulous weekend!

Little Bit Rainy

Annnnd it seems I can't escape the rain even outside of Chicago- what's happening here!?! Thunderstorms followed me to Atlanta- I'm hoping the sun might grace us with its presence sometime during this 3-day weekend! In the meantime here's a rainy tune to accompany a solo trek through the city streets, or keep you occupied as you watch the rain from inside like me!

Thank you Elle Italia- April 2011! I now have some new found rain attire inspiration!

Boldness = Hotness

Why HELLO Vogue Mexico April 2011! Why have we not met sooner?

Learning a ton down in Atlanta at my [technology] work conference! Super excited to implement some of the things I've learned... Hope you're having an educational week! I will leave you with what I feel is a genius quote from the CTO of my company- This is in response to a Project Manager saying they were embarrassed by how things had panned out with a client:

"Embarrassment is a self-inflicted emotion."

This is the same man that says "It is what it is" when things don't go your way after you've done what you can... Kind of loving his state of mind.

OH and one more quote- as the head of my office likes to remind people whenever they get overemotional about a project: "It's not like puppies are dying" [FYI- we work in website software and development].

Love all these quotes and definitely plan to bring them back to my day-to-day work to make sure I keep perspective while on the grind.

Hope you find bold motivation, however it may be, from your mentors at work!

Sunny and Sexy

So I'm leaving for Atlanta today (or as I'm calling it HOTlanta- and yes I know it's not original). I'm kind of terrified- it's a humid 90 degrees according to the forecast, and I'm just not sure I'm ready to be dressed up for work and sweating through my favorite Theory button up. My whining about hot weather after I've been waiting for sunshine and heat all winter aside, I'll try to suck it up and just enjoy experiencing a new city!

I envision the model's expression in those last 3 images is what I'll feel like over the course of the next 3 days- although hopefully I will hide it.

ACK- and the worst of the worst... I will be in HOTlanta during game 3 of the Bulls... AND I forgot my t-shirt! I know I'll survive but I can't deny it would've been fun to rock my Bulls gear in the land of the Hawks. I'm sassy like that...

Beautiful People

Something about summer and sunshine brings everybody out- and this song my lovely sister Jenna sent me is kind of an amazing soundtrack for the summer- no? Already anticipating this song blasting from boats and I'm super excited!

Milano Man

So it's no secret to my friends that I'm what some might call "addicted" to internet browsing. I constantly pour over various fashion, design, and lifestyle sites gathering information, while acquiring a few purchases here and there. So clearly, I am no stranger to Gilt.com. What is surprising to me that I noticed today: I do not browse through the mens section too often. Since it has come to my attention that I actually have a decent sized male readership (although most admittedly only for the music) I thought I'd share some of the pieces found under Gilt's sale entitled "Get the Look: Milano Man".

I personally love this "milano man" look on guys- well most of it anyways. What about you?

Bambi

Two words: outright gorgeous!

Loving Bambi's hair color in the first pic- I'm thinking summer hair inspiration?!

Better Things Ahead

Teach U To Fly

I'm going to apologize in advance- this song is just WAY to addictive for it to be one minute and fifty-one seconds long. Just go ahead and turn on repeat before hitting play...

With a work trip next week to Atlanta being followed by a long weekend trip to NYC- I'm actually looking forward to flying! Even if it is partially for work, I'm LONG overdue for a trip! Looking forward to spending Memorial Day Weekend full of glamorous nights out on the town and mornings lounging with friends!

Looking forward to the downtime mixed with some sightseeing and just all around fun with some of my favorite people!

I am definitely still buzzing from last night's DOMINATION over the Heat. Ugh- LOVE. IT!

Can't WAIT for Game 2!

Happy Cheery Monday my friends!

Real Life is Elsewhere

Not only am I in love with the name of the blog where I got this image- the image itself and the fact that it is inspiring Jared Van Camp's new restaurant endeavor in the old Marché location in the West Loop.... just no words.

Keith Richards and Gram Parsons laxin' out at Villa Nellcôte.

via Real Life is Elsewhere

The new place will be called Nellcôte and I'm excited to see what kind of food loving will be thrown down when it opens later this year.

Love. It.

Some more images from The Rolling Stones' stay at the mansion in the south of France courtesy of Real Life is Elsewhere:

I think it might be time for me to take a vacation and leave the real world behind for a bit, but then again summertime in Chicago can sometimes feel that way don't you think?
